Medusa Black IPA slithers back to Helios

It's an absolute crowd favourite annual release for Helios - Medusa Black IPA. This dark, hoppy, and tasty monster is making it's yearly return to the taproom in the coming weeks.

In Greek mythology, Medusa is generally described as a woman with living snakes in place of hair; her appearance was so hideous that anyone who looked upon her was turned to stone. Medusa was beheaded by the Greek hero Perseus, who then used her head, which retained its ability to turn onlookers to stone, as a weapon until he gave it to the goddess Athena to place on her shield.

Thankfully the Medusa you'll find at Helios Brewing is much more pleasant to deal with. Assertive bitterness supported by a complex yet dry malt backbone. Excessive whirlpool and double dry hop of Chinook, Strata and Mosaic, deliver a bright berry and tropical front, supported by a bold resin, pine and dank undertone.

Keep an eye out for the 2025 edition of Medusa Black IPA hitting the taproom in mid-June! You can pre-order now, and if you do so before June 12, you'll go into the chance to win the value of your order back.
